# View and edit Project settings

How to view and edit Project settings

{% hint style="info" %}
**Snyk is rolling out a new navigation.** The steps on this page describe the classic interface. If your view looks different, visit [Navigate the Snyk Web UI](https://docs.snyk.io/navigate-the-snyk-web-ui#where-things-moved) to map these options to the new interface.
{% endhint %}

## View and edit Project settings

Select the **Settings** tab on the Project listing or details page to view and edit Project settings:

Click **GitHub integration** to edit SCM-specific settings. This also applies to other SCMs.

You can edit the **Project Notification Settings** and update the **Test & Automated Pull Request Frequency**. You can also retrieve the **Project ID** for use in Snyk API calls.

{% hint style="info" %}
The default test frequency and available test frequencies vary depending on the type of Project: Open Source, Code analysis, Container, or IaC. For more information, see [Test frequency settings](/scan-fix-and-prevent/scan-with-snyk/snyk-projects.md#test-frequency-settings) on the Snyk Projects page. You can also set test frequency by using the API endpoint [Updates project by project ID](https://docs.snyk.io/developer-tools/snyk-api/reference/projects#orgs-org_id-projects-project_id).
{% endhint %}

To deactivate a Project, select **Deactivate project** on the Project settings page. By deactivating a Project, you do the following:

* Remove the webhook from the SCM repository.
* Disable pull request tests for new vulnerabilities.
* Disable a Fix pull request from being opened for newly disclosed vulnerabilities.
* Disable recurring tests; email alerts about newly disclosed vulnerabilities will be turned off.
* Remove any vulnerabilities in the Project from reporting and dashboard views

To delete a Project, select **Delete project** on the Project settings page. By deleting a Project, you do the following:

* Delete the Project and all historical snapshot data from Snyk.
* Remove the webhook from the SCM repository.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.snyk.io/scan-fix-and-prevent/scan-with-snyk/snyk-projects/view-and-edit-project-settings.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
