# OAuth 2.0 authentication does not work

## A new browser tab does not open automatically

* Copy the provided URL to the clipboard by clicking the corresponding button.
* Open a new browser tab manually.
* Paste from your clipboard and follow the authentication procedure.

## I have no access to the Snyk website and am unable to authenticate

The OAuth 2.0 protocol is highly dynamic, and there is no way to copy and paste a short-lived token.

For such cases, each of the IDEs provides a setting to fall back to the Snyk API token.

# Agent Instructions: Querying This Documentation

If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.snyk.io/developer-tools/snyk-ide-plugins-and-extensions/troubleshooting-ides/how-to-set-environment-variables-by-operating-system-os-for-ides-and-cli-1.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
